The 2016 Chinese American Professors Association in Connecticut (CAPA-CT) nominating committee, comprising Yang (Richard) Yang (Board member) and Meina Cai (Board member), announces a call for board member nominations.
Nominations are being solicited for CAPA-CT President, CAPA-CT Vice President, CAPA-CT Secretary, CAPA-CT Treasurer, and two Board members. To make a nomination, or to self-nominate, please send candidate’s name, discipline, and institutional affiliation to both Yang Yang (email@example.com) and Meina Cai (firstname.lastname@example.org). Nominees must be CAPA-CT members.

It is official; the IRS has approved CAPA-CT as a publicly supported organization under IRC 170(b)(1)(A)(vi) effective March 18, 2014. Contributions to the organization will be tax deductible. SAPA-CT is excited to announce our May Education Workshop to be held on May 30 at Yale University. This is the third in our series of continuing education workshops and the topics include single cell sequencing and Health Economics and Outcomes Research. This is also a well-anticipated opportunity for networking.
The workshop is free to everyone who is interested in learning more about biopharmaceuticals. We hope you can join us at the workshop. For those who can’t attend the meeting in person, we provide online participation through go-to-webinar. Further information can be found here.
2015 marks an important year for the United Nations as it celebrates the 70th anniversary of both the organization’s founding and the end of World War II. His Excellency Liu Jieyi, the Ambassador of China to the United Nations, will discuss China’s role in the United Nations.
One of China’s top experts on United Nations issues, arms control, and U.S.-China relations, Ambassador Liu has served as the director-general of the Department of International Organizations and Conferences, the Department of Arms Control and Disarmament, and the Department of North American and Oceanian Affairs of China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was previously the assistant minister and vice minister of foreign affairs. He has twice served as the president of the United Nations Security Council.

It’s our great pleasure and honor to announce and invite you to attend the 2nd Connecticut SAPA Annual Conference that will be held on March 22, 2015 at Yale University, Connecticut.
The theme of this year’s conference is “Cooperation between US and China in Today’s Pharmaceutical World – Challenges and Opportunities”. In this meeting, experts from pharmaceutical field will share their views on the future pharmaceutical & biotech industry, covering the most relevant pharmaceutical topics with a focus on global and multi-disciplinary collaborations and professional development:
SAPA-CT, Boehringer Ingelheim, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Connecticut United for Research Excellence, and Yale University co-sponsor and co-organize the conference. It will serve as a great platform for idea exchange and networking among industrial professionals as well as academic faculties and students. In addition, SAPA-CT has invited companies looking for talents (such as Boehringer Ingelheim, HD Biosciences, etc.) to set up booths for job fairs and onsite interview.
